Dr Christina Furtado

Dr Christina Furtado is a highly experienced and respected Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist with extensive expertise across public health, private practice and medico-legal settings. She specialises in mild traumatic brain injury and post-concussive symptoms, neurological conditions, dementia and complex cognitive and psychological presentations. She provides independent neuropsychological assessments and comprehensive medico-legal reports, including Joint Medical Examinations for TAC and Independent Medical Examinations.

Dr Furtado completed her Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology at Monash University and holds full endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. Since commencing clinical practice in 2012, she has held senior clinical and leadership positions across acute, subacute, community rehabilitation, and mental health services. She is currently Manager of Acute Neuropsychology Services at Monash Health, providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership across acute adult neuropsychology and psychology services.

Dr Furtado has maintained a private neuropsychology practice since 2016, providing assessments for clinical, TAC, WorkSafe, DVA and medico-legal clients. Her medico-legal expertise is underpinned by strong clinical experience and a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between cognitive functioning, psychological factors, sex-difference, injury modifiers and functional capacity. Her clinical background enables her to provide objective, evidence-based opinions regarding the impact of injury and neurological conditions on work capacity, rehabilitation, independence and everyday functioning.
