Physiotherapy

Allied health profession providing treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat, exercise and education with the aim to optimise movement and function. Physiotherapists can be trained in a number of other areas of rehabilitation such as mental health, intensive care, postoperative care and health in the workplace. Methods of treatment also include acupuncture (needling), ultrasound, heat and hydrotherapy.
