Dr James Crompton

Dr James Crompton is an Occupational and Environmental Physician with over 15 years of experience in industrial health. He specialises in rehabilitating workers, with a focus on acute knee and shoulder injuries, chronic pain syndromes, and addressing the intersection of psychological illness and substance dependence in the workplace.

Dr Crompton received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Aberdeen in 2003. He further earned a Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health from Monash University and obtained the Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine in July 2016. In 2021, he achieved Fellowship status with the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM).

Dr Crompton works as a treating physician at Essendon Fields Medical Centre, supporting employers and industries around Melbourne Airport, and serves as a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) for pilots and aviation professionals. He is also accredited to assess rail industry workers and evaluate permanent impairments and occupational infectious diseases under the American Medical Association (AMA) 4th Edition.
