Dr Gelbart is an experienced intensive care specialist with expertise in paediatrics, paediatric intensive care and has extensive experience in adult intensive care. He obtained his fellowship in paediatrics at the Royal College of Physicians in 2008 and in intensive care at the College of Intensive Care Medicine in 2012. He completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2023. He has been an intensivist at the Royal Children’s Hospital for over 10 years and is a visiting intensivist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Austin Hospital.

He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society.
